 Google has set an ambitious, longer-term goal: By 2030, Google aims to run its business on carbon-free energy everywhere, at all times.

We are taking that further, partnering with leading NGO’s to use natural climate solutions that protect, improve and restore nature as a way to compensate for any remaining emissions, ensuring our global operations are carbon neutral for the decade. 
 Currently we are purchasing 100% renewable electricity across the US, Canada, and Europe. Three of our largest markets, and over 70% of our global electricity. Along with other projects, this enabled us to achieve a 52% reduction in our Scope 1 & 2 emissions last year, far exceeding our original 30% by 2020 goal. We look forward to continuing building onsite projects, offsite energy partnerships, and to supporting developing renewable markets around the world.
